I am new to Iowa; originally from Texas and arrived to Iowa by way of Minnesota. Those of you who have made it to the Okiboji tournaments that last two Winters may remember me.
I posted a message on the The State of Iowa Chess :: Priority - Membership drop string.
UTD and UMBC have the number one and number two college chess programs in the country, respectively. TTU will rapidly join their ranks with the help of Susan Polgar (SPICE) and the scholarships they are awarding.
But I ramble, let's come together and get something going. We do not have to start with a four year scholarship, we can start with a monetary scholarship, jump to a two-year and then a four-year scholarship (or some variant).

P.S. Almost forgot to mention, I am a Local TD so I am willing to help with tournaments, primarily in the NW part of Iowa but will consider other locations.
