Susan Polgar's national invitational for girls is coming up next month (as she keeps reminding her blog's readers). On the list of qualifiers who have confirmed, Iowa is blank. Didn't I read something in En Passant about someone qualifying? Is the state qualifier just not interested in trucking down 35 to Texas or is there some kind of disconnect there that needs to be speedily rectified?

Hello Jacob C., James Hodina, the IASCA scholastic director is working to get a representative to the Polgar. The top 5 finishers from the tournament have declined the invitation. Unfortunately, each successive invitee has less and less time to get arrangements made, so the longer it goes, the harder it is to get a nominee. You can contact James at james.hodina@mchsi.com with any suggestions.
Regards, Hank

Thank you for the reply. I don't have any suggestions though I wish I did; I was just wondering what the status was since I check out Ms. Polgar's blog now and then.
